Long weekend

Hi Hi loyal readers of my blog........

In holland we had a long weekend this weekend because of "Pinksteren" I am racking my brain, what is that in english... I am pretty sure that there isn't such a holiday in NZ. I am going to google it now.... Pentecost!!! the 7th sunday after easter. When we in the catholic church celebrate the rising of jesus.

Friday I quit my job here at easybox, my boss was not happy but he can't do much about it. Well maybe if he offered me twice as much money I would consider staying but I can't see that happening. He now has a month to find a replacement.
Friday night, Julian stayed the night at mum's (oma's). Jeroen had to work at the wallevis (restaurant where we had our wedding reception) and I had a night out on the town with my girlfriends. We have found the best bubbles in the whole world it is called moscato d'asti. yummy yummy. I think we drank all the bottles that they had. the only thing is... it does give you a headache.

Saterday we went to pick up my new bike in Bergen op Zoom, it was so very exciting to see it all fitted with baby seat and wind-breaker, and in the colours and design that I wanted... I have already pu a photo of the bike here so is the baby seat...... You can't realy see it very well, but it has orange butterflies on it, so neat.
I biked all the way from BOZ to Steenbergen cause otherwise we would have had to load my new bike onto a trailer and it might have been damaged, well that is what I told jeroen. It was such a nice day and a hour alone on the bike is very soothing for a headache.

Sunday we went to a place in Belgium just over the boarder to a garden center to buy plants for our garden, it was looking a little bare. We couldn't buy all the plants that we needed cause they wouldn't fit in the car..... You need to take so much stuff with you when you have a child, not that I am complaining, I still love being a mummy but these are the kinds of things that one forgets before having babies. Oh well, at least I now have an excuse to go plant shopping again. When we got home Julian was still sleeping, so we carefully took him out of the car and planted all the plants in record time together before he woke up... it was all timed perfectly. Jeroen then cooked up a feast for us. All in all a fun family day.

Monday, as I already said was an extra day off. Not for Jeroen he had to work in the wallevis again. I say work but Jeroen calls it his hobby. Being a teacher is his work. The weather was crappy so I had an inside play day with Julain, lots of fun. Dad and Helen called
and asked if we wanted them to bring anything from NZ. I couldn't think of anything.... anyone any ideas?? the only thing that I would really like is a PSP (playstaion portable) Duty free they are alot cheaper. So dad if you read this maybe you could have a look for me??!!??

Well that's all folks

Slacking

It has been over a week since I have written a blog, shame on me.... get your act into gear josje (kick myself) *#%!$#&*
Lets start with some cutie cutie photo's of Julian...

I was actually waiting so that I could write something about my job interviews that I have had... but I haven't heard back from any of them yet.... that can't be a good thing.... I hate job interviews.... does anyone have any tips?? leave them in my guestbook, I could really use the help cause just being my sweet bubbley self isn't working.

Julian has a new trick, he can now roll from his back to his tummy and back again. Yesterday I layed him on his blanket on the floor and turned around for not even a minute to make myself a cuppa and he had rolled to the otherside of the room. He was pressed up against the wall cause he couldn't go any further, it was quite funny to see and I couldn't keep myself from laughing, (he can only roll in one direction you see... he is still learning).

I then picked him up and put him back on his blanket. He did the same thing 2 more times before falling asleep, he wore himself out.

Now for something totally different, this is what was on the front page of the free newspaper I pick up on the bus: (Translated) "Rubbish tip named after John Cleese as revenge". A city in New Zealand has named a rubbish tip after the british comedien John Cleese. Palmerston North wanted revenge on Cleese for making some terrible comments about their city. After his visit in 2005 he said that if one was considering comitting suicide that a stay in Palmerston North would push one over the edge. No one has claimed responsibility for placing the sign as of yet. I had a good laugh and then thought to myself..... do they not have anything better to put on the front page... I guess anything is better than then other 200 stories about the war in iraq.
Have a good one, and good luck to claire on her TE in Hamil-tron,
Love you all Josje xx

Mothersday

Sunday was my first mothersday, it was great. Julian bought me breakfast in bed, well jeroen did but is was from julian he said..... I also got a pressie that juian made at toerdeloo (creche) It is a vaas with different coloured hand prints on it, Julian's hand prints..... very cool..... This is something I will keep and cherish forever, my first mumsday pressie.

I also got a mothersday pressie from dad which I am going to buy as soon as I can... I am so looking forward to riding around on my new mummy bike here is a photo of the bike that julian and I will be cruising around on very soon.... well as soon as julian can sit properly in about 1 month. When dad and helen are here then we can go on bikerides...... ooohhhh I am all excited!!!

Julian got his vaccination this morning for Hepatitis b and Puenokokken. I am not quite sure what the translation is in english for puenokokken???? Does anyone know????
He cried a bit... but a kiss and a cuddle and he was a happy chappy again... that is the upside when thay are this young, they forget what happened really quickly and are easely distracted with a toy. When he is 11 months he has to have more vaccinations.

Friday last week I had an job interview at the C & A in Bergen op Zoom (like Farmers) I am waiting to here back from them, and on Wednesday (tomorrow) I have an interview at the Formido in Steenbergen (like Mitre 10) Working at the Formido would be the best because it is so close to home. I can go to my work on my new bike!!!! I will keep you posted when I hear back!!

Tomorrow afternoon I am going shopping with mum for christning clothes for Julian I am also busy busy organizing the mass and the invitations for the party afterwards, he is getting baptized on July the 1st and my best friend abbie from NZ will be here for it too, aswell as dad and helen..... I am so looking forward to seeing everyone!!!

Have a good one!! Josje xxx

Still raining

The weather hasn't changed, it is still raining. After 44 days of beautiful weather!!! It is starting to get depressing. Oh wel what can you do about the weather?? NOTHING!!

This is going to be a short blog cause julian's physiotherapist will be here in 10 min.

Thanks dad for leaving a message in the guest book!!! I am so looking forward to seeing you guys and going on bike rides with julian!! I am looking for a new bike at the moment to hopefully I will have found somthing by then. On my crappy, rusty, 22 year old bike that I ride around on now you can't put a baby seat. I am checking "marktplaats" everyday for a secong hand "mamafiets". Is there something like marktplaats in NZ, it is great. Buying and selling secondhand stuff online....... we have found so many things for julian and our new house this way!!

Here is a really cool photo of julian, I just love his facial expression in this one, this is exactly how he is, always happy and he sees and watches everything.

Love you all and I can't say it enough!!! Sign the guestbook....... only if you want too.......

Rain

Yesterday it rained for the first time in 44 days, to be honest I didn't really mind it and my plants really needed a good watering.

It took me a least 30 mins to pick out my clothes this morning, I felt really girley today so I wanted to wear a skirt and a pretty top with frilly things, but I enden up just wearing my jeans again. All my nice clothes from before I got pregnant don't fit anymore, they are all to big, yes to BIG!!! Mum has taken in all my skirts and pants but there is not much she can do for my tops. Most women have the opposite problem but not me...... This is a good thing cause there are quite a few kilos to be lost. I think I am going to have to do some shopping, but definatley on a budget. I need a few good pieces that I can mix and match to make a few good outfits.

I have applied for a few jobs and I'm waiting for replies, it is not that I'm unhappy at my current job but there is just no future in it, it is to far away from steenbergen and the pay is not great. That is another reason why I have to go shopping for some new clothes........ job interviews!! If I hear back I'll let you know.

I have been looking for tickets to NZ so that I can be at adrian and claires wedding on the 12th of Januari. I was surprised to see that almost all the flights are full, crazy!! Why are all those people flying to NZ, adrian did you invite the whole world......... Speaking of adrian I am so proud of him he got a 3 year scholarship to continue his studies. For more info read his blog (there is a link on the left)

I also made a link to Maarten's blog (Jeroen's younger brother) He has just gone to China for 5 months to do his masters, something to do with erotion I think. He writes it is dutch so for the Kiwi's it will be hard to read but for the dutchies among us it could get interesting, he has promised to post photos too, we will wait and see.

I found some photo's of julian when he was still really little, I can't believe that he was that tiny but I want to share them with you, I promiss to post somemore recent photo's soon but when I am at home my hands a quite full, I'll try tonight when julian is in bed.

Also a photo of a duck, it is such a cutie, remember adrian and claire when on our trip at new years 2 maybe 3 years ago and we went to that little petting zoo...... well this duck lives there. A Kiwi duck.
Have fun everyone,
Love and Kisses Josje xxx

Guestbook sign it!

Be the first to sign my guestbook... go on you know you want too... PLEASE!! let me know that I am not writing my blog for jan lul.
The dutch speakers among you understand what I mean by jan lul....

Oh my God I have to let you know what I did yesterday with my girlfriends, Chocolate fondue... yummy yummy. I am so addicted, we made a reservation for next month to do it again. For those who don't know the concept you are truely missing out on something. Melted chocolate in a bowl, pieces of fruit, cake and marshmellow and little forks for the dipping part. pure genius, I wish I knew about this when I got married, what would be cooler than a fountain of flowing, melted chocolate. Man I am so premenstral.... hehe CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was also Koninginnedag "Queens birthday". Everyone has a day off, parties and dresses in orange clothes (because this is the colour of the dutch royal family). I even put orange ribbons on julian's pram. I didn't take a photo but here is one of some friends having fun in the sun in orange.
Well I had better get back to work again, writing by blog in the bosses time is not realy part of my job discription but what he doesn't know won't hurt him and aslong as I do my work well I am sure he won't mind.
Don't forget to sign the guest book!!!! I hope it works.
